🍂 Keys Elementary School Fall Festival 🍂
Community Support Needed!
Next Friday, Keys Elementary will celebrate our School Fall Festival! Students in Pre-K through 6th grade will enjoy a fun-filled day of fall activities, including games, a cake walk, community booths, and bouncy houses!
This special event would NOT be possible without the support of our amazing community! ❤️🖤 We are asking for your help to make this a memorable experience for our students. If you are able and willing to contribute, here are a few ways you can help:
🍬 Candy Donations
Candy is one of our BIGGEST needs! Any amount is greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at the Keys Elementary front office.
🎪 Host a Game Booth
Local businesses are invited to set up a booth with a fun game and candy prizes for our students to enjoy!
🎯 Donate a Carnival Game
Have a carnival-style game that kids would love? We would be grateful for donations of games to help make our festival extra special!
Every donation, big or small, helps us create fun memories for our students. Thank you for continuing to support Keys Elementary and our Cougars! We are so grateful to have a community that shows up for our kids! ❤️🖤

Keys Public Schools is excited to announce a new partnership with Interquest Detection Canines as part of our continued commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment for our students and staff.
Throughout the school year, specially trained Interquest detection canines and their handlers will make unannounced visits to both Keys Middle School and Keys High School.
Interquest’s friendly, approachable canines are specifically trained for use in school environments. Unlike traditional law-enforcement canines that may also be trained for apprehension or handler protection, Interquest detection dogs are non-aggressive detection canines whose job is to identify the presence of prohibited substances and items. The company’s materials describe the dogs as friendly and controllable in crowded school hallways.
The canines are trained to detect odors associated with a variety of substances and contraband, including illicit drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine; alcoholic beverages; commonly abused medications; and gunpowder-based items.
Interquest has more than 25 years of experience working in schools, and its program is designed to be proactive, preventive, cost-effective and compatible with existing school safety programs. The company states that its program helps validate the presence or absence of unwanted contraband on campus while enhancing the educational environment.
Why are we doing this?
Our goal is prevention, safety, and education.
We want our students to come to school ready to learn in an environment free from drugs, alcohol, vapes and other prohibited or dangerous items. The presence of detection canines provides another tool to discourage students from bringing inappropriate substances or items onto school property.
This partnership is not about creating an intimidating school environment. It is about being proactive and making it easier for our students to make good choices.
We also want families to understand that these are detection dogs—not attack or apprehension dogs. Their role is to use their remarkable sense of smell to detect odors associated with prohibited substances and items. The Interquest information provided to the district notes that its detection canines are specifically trained for this purpose and are not dual-purpose dogs trained to apprehend suspects.
The visits will occur periodically throughout the school year at Keys Middle School and Keys High School.
We appreciate the support of our parents, students, staff, and community as we continue working together to keep our schools safe.
Safe Schools. Healthy Choices. Cougar Pride.
